Resolving Aspects

Hey all,

I've been digging into some of JWG's EA stuff recently, and am wondering for some clarification on how it is recommended within this paradigm to work with or resolve the energy represented by aspects in the chart.

I'm guessing that to understand this, one looks to the descriptions of aspect phases... so working out a 176 degree opposition would look to the description of a gibbous phase opposition whereas making sense of a 185 degree opposition one would look to the idea of the full phase opposition.

So in the case of the former, one can understand that there's an energy of opposition, back and forth between the two planets, that is for the evolutionary purpose of being able to "integrate into the social sphere as an equal,"and "enforce awareness that the drives of others are just as strong as its own."

I guess part of what I'm wondering at here is does the tension of these aspects resolve or get easier within the lifetime when worked with consciously, or is it to be understood as just sort of being there throughout as part of the evolutionary set-up?

Interested to hear more about how to work with aspects according to this set of teachings - and if I'm on the right track looking to the descriptions of phases as a way into that.

Hi Chris,

So, when that is worked with and accomplished, does the energy / tension of that opposition lessen for the chart holder, or is it that it is just the evolutionary purpose, in the lifetime, for the chart holder to have that aspect? I guess part of what I'm wondering at here is does the tension of these aspects resolve or get easier within the lifetime when worked with consciously, or is it to be understood as just sort of being there throughout as part of the evolutionary set-up?

The tension remains until the Soul evolves into the awarness that others are equal to itself and thus integrate into the social sphere as an equal. At that point the tension that it felt and experienced will no longer be in the way that it was.

And then - is it accurate that according to the EA teachings looking to the different phase relationships is the way to understand how to work with any given aspect?

It would change relative to how the Soul is interacting with other people, how others interact with the Soul. In essence, it would shift from expierencing the butting of heads with others to one wherin there is an acceptance and appreciation for individual differences: no one is trying to convert or convice the other to this or that point of view, this way of doing something, etc. The nature, archetypes, of the two planets invovled in this aspect by sign, house location, and aspects to other planets will correlate to the nature or content of what the butting of heads can be about.

Yes, because the nature of the aspect, its own archetypes, manifests and is conditioned by the nature of the phase that it exists within: the archetypes of the phase itself.
