Pisces Virgo Archetype

Hi Rad and All,

This may sound really silly but.... I have been pondering the phrase "ignorance is bliss". With ignorance you can have Pisces involved because of only wanting to see the good and 'ignoring' the truth. This feels so Piscean and Virgo to me because it is about denial of informataion presented. Like willful ignorance in order to maintain a blissful state. Would this be accurate? Willful ingnorance would pull in the Capricorn archetype though to me. I know this may sound silly but I needed to know if I am corresponding this accurately.

Hey Jordyn-

I think this would be dependent on the rest of the chart for sure. With dissociation involved it would also be dependent on the subject of the dissociation. I think there might be some indications of it in Pisces or the 12th house, but it could also be indicated through Mercury and Neptune placements, as well as Chiron. And I think those would be dependent on what the nature of the issues that are being dissociated from.

That said, I think the dissociation could be parts of the native that are trying to protect them from some situation they see as threatening to the system that they see as similar to something it went through earlier in life. In this same context I think it could be due to the karmic axis as well. Behavior showing up as an unrelated fear in a situation and sending the nervous system into a fight or flight based on nothing seemingly related to current life situations.

I am pretty new to this but that is my take. I would be interested to see if thee is more context to flush it out more.

I do know the whole chart has to be looked at, this was more for correlating the underlying archetype. I love your explanation and feedback. Archetypes are vast, so when I hear a phrase or see something and automatically it draws me to a certain archetype I want to make sure I am understanding and corresponding it correctly.

For someone who is a 'newbie', you are doing fantastic! Again, I love your feedback, your brain is firing off with EA and it brings me joy!

Mercury indeed, from a Virgo standpoint. That can be denial. So I think you are definitely picking up on what I was reflecting on! It is interesting to think about Virgo square Sagittarius, to me that brings in the dynamic of a 'self fulfilling prophecy' meaning that what others tell you about you, even if not true (Sagittarius) we can take it on as a truth, while denying our personal truth (the square I mentioned). Fear to me represents Mars/Aries/1st. Then the flight or fight response would bring in Virgo/Mercury/6th with the natural inconjunct to Aries/1st/Mars.

Hi Jordyn,

Yes, this is accurate. Willfull ignorance also occurs in Souls who are invested in some kind of delusion, Pisces, that they need to consider as actual reality Saturn, wherein the delusion correlates to their core sense of meaning and emotional/psychological security. Thus, Saturn blocks that actual reality from entering into them. The Virgo polarity to Pisces then correlating to total crisis if they did so.

This meaning that on a Soul level the Soul itself is trying to block the inherent crisis that would occur if they did indeed acknoweldege to truth? Specifically blocking the crisis that would creat an internal reflection? This pertaining to not only Pisces/Virgo but Capricorn? I have a chart in mind that I feel has mitigating circumstances that really fits this.

There is a chart I am thinking of that pertains to someone I know. They also have Pluto in a balsamic conjunction to Mars and both square the Nodal axis with a Capricorn stellium in the 2nd. The rulers of both nodes are in direct aspect to what I am talking about. To me, this reflects the soul blocking evolution through the function of willful igonorance. It is not appoproriate to share for ethical reasons and what I call astrological 'hippa' haha and just the message board rules. But this totally fits the dynamic. It would "cost" this Soul too much to acknowledge reality pertaining to their own evolutionary growth. There's so much more with their chart, but as a whole, it totally fits! Thank you, this feedback and this chart have got my gears going. Although I know it isn't one size fits all.
