Hello everyone. Liking the new forum!!
Many sources state that Leo is the ruler of the spine. But I don't think that is the EA view of it.
As far as I can tell EA says Capricorn rules both the spine and the spinal discs. Can anyone confirm that?
And why do they say Leo does...? Is there any validity in that at all...?
thanks Upasika
Hi Upasika,
Thank you for posting your question. From my understanding, Pluto/Scorpio/ 8th house archetype and Saturn/Capricorn/10th house archetype co-rule the spine and also spinal fluids. The Sun /Leo/5th house archetype rules the Cardiovascular system and circulation of the blood. The heart as an organ is co-ruled with Mars because of the cardiac tissue that it is composed of.

Hi again,
I went back and read again the material that my father wrote about this and so need to amend my answer. Pluto specifically correlates with the spine, spinal column and the fluids within it, whereas the vertebrae and the spinal disks are specifically Saturn. I thought also be good to add that the nerves that emanate from the spinal column correlate with Mercury, and spinal plexuses (chakras) correlate with Uranus and Pluto.

Also, need to correct that the heart as an organ is not co-ruled by Mars. The heart as an organ is the Sun/ Leo/ 5th house.

Actually, reviewing my father's work what I previously wrote that "the heart as an organ is co-ruled with Mars because of the cardiac tissue that it is composed of" is correct.

mmm.....perhaps Leo ruled by the Sun, which equals vitality/vital force and hence the spine, as it houses the individuated kundalini force? Classically Leo is the Heart.
My initial thought was Saturnian (bones, sinews, cartilaginous things)...so Cap seems right....Aquarius (Sat or Uranus) would also fit, but more from the higher octave of communication, electricity (Merc).....
Hi Upasika,
In JWG's Medical Astrology book it says the spinal column and the discs are co-ruled by Pluto and Saturn.
Have no idea why anyone would have Leo as the ruler of the same.
God Bless, Rad
