House cusp translation

I have a question about houses and the sign cusps.

I have heard that if you have two sign cusps in one house (intercepted) it can mean that the lessons for that area in life can either be completed or in great need of development as it relates to the nodal placement set out by the chart and it depends on planetary placements in the rest of the chart. This inevitably leads to houses that have no sign cusps. How does this effect the house? And is what I have been told true from an EA perspective?

Hi Bob,

There is no such thing as having two sign cusps in the same house. An intercepted house means there is a sign on the cusp of the interectped house where in the intercpetion is a sign witin that house. The proceeding house from that intercepted house will then have it's own sign on it's cusp. So for exampole, if a given house has Libra on it's cusp, and the sign Scorpio is witin that, the next house cusp would be Sagittarius.

The rest of what you have understood from an EA point of view is correct.

I must be missing something here. Bear with me as I am new to this and could be interpreting things wrong. Maybe you can clear it up if I clarify how the rulership is determined.

I guess the jist of the question is around hosue rulership in the EA format. Is the rulership based on the sign that has the majority of degrees within it? Or is there some signifigance to the cusp of the sign residing in the hosue.

Example; If a 4th hosue starts at 7 degrees Pisces and end at 3 degrees Aries, is the ruler of that house Aries even though the majority of the degrees in the hosue are Pisces?

Hi Bob,

The planetary ruler of any given house is determined by the sign on the cusp of it. So if Aries in on the 4th house cusp the planetary ruler is Mars. In your question about Piscs is the ruler of the 4th House with Aries within it it Pisces is the ruler of that house with it's planetary ruler Neptune. That then means that the sign/ archetypes of Aries that is within it is being conditioned by the archetypes of Pisces/Neptune.
