Drug Addiction( to Rad)

What part does drug play in human's evolutionary development? it is a useful method or gradually destroy human body and spirit, made human being a slave? I just cannot understand that how can people rising above this body and soul pollution if he or she is programed in this incarnation with difficult drug addiction?
