My understanding is that EA uses triune archetypes, meaning that house, sign, and ruling planet each reflect a different facet of one archetype. My question: would planets in Scorpio or the 8th house, for example, be interpreted similarly as if they were in aspect to Pluto?

Hi Alchemillamollis,
Similarly, yes in the sense that they would relate to evolutionary dynamics. as per the nature of Scorpio and the 8th house. Different in that a planet in aspect to Pluto symbolizes a specific evolutionary intention as symbolized by the house, sign, aspect and phase. All in all we need to see everything in context of the whole chart within the core framework of the Pluto nodes paradigm. A planet in the 8th house will have a planetary ruler, as well as the ruler of the 8th house - both of which will be doing something in the chart. A planet in Scorpio will of course be ruled by Pluto, but that's not the same as being in an actual aspect to Pluto.
So yes they are all archetypally related, but we can't treat them the same in terms of interpretation.
