When i hear about archetypes in EA I’m pointed towards the house sign planet aspect
In examples I often read about the sign planet and house but I haven’t seen a thread where the aspect is synthesized into this archetype in a simple understandable way (for me!)
Examples are great. Like if you are looking for the archetype of the soul you would look to Pluto Scorpio 8, but then how does the aspect add to the character of the archetype?
My recommendation would be to look up all the info you can about aspects, phases, evolutionary gates that you can, really study it and integrate the archetypal processes and development from 0 degrees to 360 degrees.
And then study it from the perspective of each sign at the 0 degree point, for example Aries at 0 degrees, the natural archetype would have Cancer at 90 degrees, Libra at 180 degrees then Capricorn at 270 degrees. Then repeat for Taurus at 0 degrees, which would have Leo at 90 degrees, Scorpio at 180 degrees, etc. But also do ALL the aspects, sextiles, trines, quintiles, semi-squares, sesquiquadrates, inconjuncts etc.
Not only will this help you to synthesis the aspects/phase with the signs and houses, but it will also further flesh out your understanding of the sign/house archetypes. No sign or house’s archetypal meaning exists or functions in a vacuum, they are interrelated, a precedent and consequence of the previous and following signs, as well as their inter-aspects with the other signs.
Hi Dominikas, I'm sure if there is a thread like that someone will recall it and share it. For me I understand these as layers. Or in another way they are like a puzzle. Have you ever seen a "Cryptex?" One features in the movie "The Davinci Code," interestingly Tom Hanks stared in this and Tom Hanks and his chart were a feature in our panel discussion about the moon through the houses which we recorded yesterday and is in the EA channel on YouTube now if people haven't seen it yet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxGxBmyYghw Coming back to this cryptex analogy. Within the puzzle are a number of discs or circular drums that must align in order for the "catch" to be released and the puzzle opened. I see the "House/Sign/Aspect" like this. It is only when puzzling the puzzle, looking at how each layer relates to the previous ones applied that we can see what pattern it creates, how it reveals itself as a journey when we can observe it from the outside. And these "whole" pictures will still look different from person to person when we examine them in relation to what we observe when enquiring about our clients lives and perspectives when examining their, or our own charts Just a thought, hope it helps :) Blessings and much love Joe
Hi Dominikas,
I find that when using aspects and phases to layer into the synthesis it's best to start simple. Then build out.
A great way to start is to look at the squares and the conjunctions first. We know that both can bring tension. Then we can look at the phasal relationship to see just what kind of tension that brings to those planets.
The same can be done with trines and sextiles. Understanding trines and sextiles we can look at if someone has become stuck in a "lazy" type of way, meaning that they are used to the status quo of that energy. Then you can look at what needs to be worked on within those two planets forming the trine or sextile to see what kind of integration is needed through the phasal relationship, to get "unstuck".
If you would like, I think this would be a great opportunity to find a chart of someone well known to do a chart example to help you out.
If you are up for it, I am more than happy to help you and to answer the questions along the way. That way we can see the totality of a chart and work from there.
Much Love,
Jordyn
